Mouth off is $1.99 in the app store. It's quite an ingenious little application that uses the microphone capability to animate a collection of hilarious mouths. Simply put, this little application you'll never use, but the one time you do, I guarantee you get a huge laugh out of it.
There are currently 15 different mouths available, each quite unique. Some are a lot funnier than others, the skeleton mouth is awesome for getting laughs!
The animation for the sound input is very quick and seamless, it actually looks like youre talking through these ridiculous mouths. Awesome.
Relatively cheap, rarely useful, very funny and creative (4/5)

Mancala FS5
Manacala is a traditional family game that requires no special peices or board. The gameplay is decscribed as "count-and-capture" because it's essentially a math problem.
The word mancala comes from the Arabic word naqala meaning literally "to move."
There are two version of this game available on the app store. The free version is completley unlocked, the only difference is advertisments that are shown between games. These ads are unintrusive, but are forced on the screen for 10 seconds each game.
The pro version has more coloured peices and no ads.
The absolute best part of this game is that it works perfectly online with an iphone! You can play strangers on the web, or you can connect wifi to those around you. Kudos to the developers, I hope you make some coin on this one.
Fun, clean, challenging and online! (5/5)

Freeballin' Pinball
Another gold star game has been released in the app store - and it's the first time pinball has been successfully executed on the iPhone. This game is incredibly polished and very fun to play. The control style is intuative (screen split in half, each side controls a flipper). There are currently 4 boards to play on, each one has it's own special 'side-boards' that you can unlock. The game uses high frame panning to provide a much smoother, and larger game area.
At first you may think this game is very boring - but the more you play, the more you unlock, and the more you unlock, the more badass the tables get. I've taken a few snapshots of the board and stitched them together. This board is called Monsteroplois and is my favourite of the 4. If you're considering buying this game I would totally encourage you.
Easy controls, fun to play, $1.99 (4.5/5)

Koi Pond
One of the first famous applications to hit the iPhone, Koi Pond is only 99c and has at least $1.99 worth of value! The graphics are crisp and smooth, the sound of rain and ambient swamp are good enough to simply listen to on headphones for a little relaxation, and of course, the water ripple on the touch screen is perfect for zoning out.
Koi pond is a great application for showing off your iPhone, and it's also great for its sound effects.
Eveything you need in an app, very polished! (5/5)

Eye Tricks
This is an older free application that gives the user nearly 50 different 'eye tricks'. The vast majority you have seen before, which is terribly disappointing since a touch screen seems like the perfect platform for this! There are a small number of moving ones, and they're my favourite.
Since this application is free, I can't rip it a new one. You will download this, trip out on the spiral ones a little and then delete it off your phone.
The app simply isn't fun because everyone's seen them all! (2/5)

Artisan
This newer application is a spin-off of 'Spawn Illuminati'. The quality is inferior and it provides much less fun. The app still costs the same as Spawn, so don't waste your money on Artisan.
Conscious bothering you?
They're both made by the same developer, so don't worry! This app has some neat features; the image here shows the different control modes (about 1/6 of what's available on Spawn). The art pasted below is stuff I made after memorizing the controls.
The touch capabilities are pretty useless. It will follow your finger like spawn, but instead of cool patterns and explosions, it just globs up on top of itself. Useless! One fun thing to do is round up a tight ball of 'artisan' and watch it bounce around. Unlike Spawn, the paint will never disburse or explode, so its bounces evenly, perfect for creating patterns!

Bubbles
This app was one of the first that I downloaded.
It's free, it's cute, it's easily one of the most rewarding applications out there. The picture is sharp, the bubbles are shiny, and you can't help but love the cute popping sound of the bubbles. This software is an excellent application of the touch technology, and a fun way to entertain seniors... haha!
This application takes up very little memory, and is an absolute staple for all iPhone users. Highly recommend downloading this one.
